Fall: Golden Leaves and Dry Skin

I love Fall!  It's so beautiful! I love boots, jeans, and scarf weather.  But I don't love what happens to my skin when we turn on the furnace.

I have two little nuggets I want to share with you today. They are easy to find, inexpensive, and they will be two of your favorite products for soft skin.

Both nuggets are from Burt's Bees.

The first:

Orange Essence Facial Cleanser

Orange Essence is different than any other facial cleanser I have ever used.  The main ingredients are orange oil, olive oil, and aloe vera. You will love the incredible smell- like pure oranges.

When you first use it, you will wonder if it is face cleanser or some kind of thick, golden, vaseline-type lotion.

Spread it on and let the heat from your face melt the oils into your skin.  Then take a warm cloth and gently remove the cleanser.  Every bit of your make up comes off, including eye make up.  Your face is incredibly smooth and hydrated.

Paraben and Sulfate Free

$8 at most drug stores, groceries, Whole Foods.
If you can't find it you can order on line at Burt's Bees.

The second nugget is an often overlooked product that I have dug out for you.

Burt's Bees Hand Salve

This tin of golden goodness is much more than "hand salve"!

It looks like an overgrown lip gloss tin or a shoe polish tin. Open the lid and you will smell the rosemary, eucalyptus, and olive oil.  The smell is quite strong, but it dissipates as the salve sinks in.

Dig into the smooth, glossy salve.  Rub a hunk into your hands.  Put some on your lips. Take a bigger hunk and massage into your feet. Don't forget your elbows!

Here are some of the ways I use the Hand Salve:

Keep a tin in the car glove box for times when my hands and lips get dry when driving in cold weather.

Rub a big glob into my feet and put on cotton socks before bed.  It is much healthier than Vaseline!

Perfect for air travel because it is not considered a "cream" and doesn't spill or leak.

Coat my hands and then wrap in hot towels for a soothing home manicure.
If you snow ski, the salve is perfect! You can easily carry it to use to protect your hands and face from bitter cold.

The salve is paraban and sulfate free.

$9 at drugstores, groceries, and Whole Foods.  If you can't find it, order on line from Burt's Bees.
